Ever struggle to get a paddock stand in place and in use on your own? I did so decided to do this ....
1) See the 'standard' universal fittings for the Micron paddock stand? ... Throw them away!


2) I turned up these bobbins with a M10 thread through the centre and modified an M10 bolt by fitting a T-bar. The bobbins are screwed to the swing arm with 2 M6 screws.


3) With the bike on the sidestand, the paddock stand is fixed to the swing arm ( and can be wheeled around attached )


4) Now it's a one-man (or woman) operation to do the job and it's rock solid too


Yes ... I could have made use of the original bobbin locations provided by Yamaha, but thought it would interfere with access to the chain adjuster screws.

Nicely done, but I don't want to screw in to my swing arm ...

There is equally time needed (I guess more) to get the stand in place then with mine putting the bike straight and push down the bar and up it goes.

But still, a unique solution for anyone who likes it!

im with you on that Gerben.
I to am not to keen on the holes and only relying on a couple of riverts to hold the bikeup.
nice job on turning the things up though.

Nice idea! I had the same problems, but found something "similar". Works a treat for me, as long as I wont do endurane racing

Isn't the M10 threaded hole under the adjusters on either side for stand bobbins? I have them fitted to my bike. You buy hooked thingies for your stand to replace the rubbish universal things and the bike kind of 'hangs' from the hooks by the bobbins.

This is what I am talking about. Reduces the hassle of checking that the bobbins are in place while holding the bike balanced. The bobbins are locked in place, and there's a catch to release them once the bike is back on the sidestand/standing upright. There are different models that fit different designs of paddock stands.

Just when you thought this thread was over.. . I have fitted paddock stand bobbins or what ever you want to call them in the M10 holes & now when the bike is on the stand my hooks are in the way of the chain adjusters ! The main reason for having it on the stand & I can't make proper use of it. Anyone else have the same problem ?

This might be a daft question, but have you tried turning the hooks round so the 'open' bit faces towards the rear of the bike?

Are you using the J shaped hooks? Mine does the same but as Kayla says, if you switch them round you can access teh chain adjusters

Yes they are cheapo J shape hooks & no I haven't tried turning them round ! Cheers both.

Or do it with the wheel on the ground. What am I missing here guys?

PS - mine are even cheaper rectangular plates, and yes they do block the adjuster screws.

Turned them round, they still get in the way.. . bugger.

Use swingarm cups,all sorted!
