My right carbs coolant pipes (and in/out hoses) were totally blocked with crap when I had them off. Not even repeated blasts from the air gun/carb cleaner would clear them. Took a while to get all the gunk out, had to use a long and thin screwdriver on the hoses and eventually worked through the carb with a cable tie of all things! Food for thought...

Shouldn't really be a problem. Mine kept leaking after they were disturbed. Went back to the workshop a few times. Finally the mechanic cured it by placing an appropriate sized ball bearing in it to block the system. Did it years ago and and no probs so far - probably dont need it here in Oz, doesn't get that cold in the winter.

True, it's probably unnecessary here, I was just suprised to find so much solid muck in there! Had a leaking problem on the left hose, cured it by trimming back the hose a bit to reduce diameter.
