can someone advise which are the best plugs to use?
I expect there is something more updated that mr yamaha specified last century made from unobtainium - that would be best.
part numbers, preferebly for australian supplier

thanks Stu but I cant get a number off that list, only says stock plug for a TDM -DPR9EA-9 and this is not iridium.
Will any iridium plug do -i am assuming they have different heats and threads

Yep, the iridiums make a good bang....set the gaps to between .8 and .9 of a millimeter.
Pricey sods though..might set you back 20 or so dollars...

Bought some of those Iridium's (DPR8EIX9) for the Speed Triple last year, ended up with big running problems, took them out & refitted the standard DPR8EA9's, and it's run sweet as a nut since...

Might try them in the TRX at some point.

Probably dont need the plasticene yet, although at my age a hairy arse and that "incident" at the footy club now precludes me from white underpants.

Careful with that as iridiums are very fragile and easily damaged. Several mechanics I know have always said just use them as they are out of the box as unlike standard plugs the gap will be fine. Gaps can be set if you wish but it is not woth the risk of damage.
I've never had an issue following that advise.
No offence Alex, like a lot of things, probably two schools of thoughts on that.

No wuckens Stu..actually the plug comes with the correct gap..most usually will as the plug is made for the intended machine use.

The iridiums are a fine electrode plug and care is needed....so dont let the kids play with em
