I am just about to start spraying the front of my engine. I have the aluminium engine paint but was wondering if I should use a few coats of etch primer first. Thanks and Merry Christmas to you and yours David.

Just check the insructions on the side of the paint can David, as some-- all in ones-- dont require an etch, but then having said that, a good primers job is to bond to the surface, and then a good paints job is to bond to a good primer...better safe than sorry and have a problem later.
