UK headlight switch

Post by yammyman » Thu Jul 02, 2015 10:51 am

I believe the UK light switch has a switch to turn the lights on or off as opposed the our Aussie unit that has the lights on permanently. Will the UK switch plug straight in and work with our Aussie loom without mods.

I got 1 set up on a spare loom i have in the garage with the switchgear.
I'll have a look how its wired as there is an extra lines added to wire in the tail light which needs to be dis connected from the main loom. Plus power to jump to the hi/lo switchblock.
Keep the brake light on the main loom though.
Note...
The switch gear I have is the right hand switch and replaces the small switch block that has the start/kill switches. It has the extra horizontal off/Parker/light switch like your indicator style switch in between the starter/kill switches.

Thanks for the info, sounds like a lot of hassle to simply be able to turn the lights off.

Yer a lot easier to just reach down and pull the connector from the headlight bulb.
That's all I do if working on the bike and need to keep the power on...
