Extreme cold here may not be helping either... below zero every night this week at my place. So much for sunny qld.

I think further diagnosis may be dependant on warmer weather.

Ahhh... That might explain it. But what do our elf, err... Scandinavian friends have to offer?

Silly question, are you using the choke? And if so, is it working properly? The reason I ask is it may be sticking...

Yes, using the choke, as I always do for cold starting. Choke seems to be working fine.

Taking it in tomorrow for a professional inspection.

Hmmm... less than 2000km since i bought it from the bike shop - not a good sign.

Do I understand it right, that it seem like the problem shifts from left to right cylinder? And it's below freezing point? You might have some small amounts of water in the fuel/carbs, and when the cold air is drawn through the carbs, either it freezes, or the water droplets just blocks the fuel. Then You stop the engine, and the ize melts, or the droplet moves, and then when You start, it's the other cylinder. A longshot, but that would be a typical Scandinavian problem... Try to put some carb cleaning in the tank (quite a lot), this will mix with the water, and in theory allow the water to come out the normal way, as a doctor would say...

There you go! When discussing below freezing malfunctions, consult an elf!
