Carbon Fibre re-sleeve questions

Does anybody know if carbon fibre motorcycle exhausts are made with different resin to marine riggings i.e. masts etc.

I’m thinking of re-sleaving a pair of hand me down Megacycle slip-ons (curtesy of Bob – Top Bloke and all around TRX owning good guy) with carbon fibre. I’ve found a place that specialises in carbon fibre tubing but they warn that temps above 60 deg Celsius can damage/melt the resin.

fundametally carbon fibre is carbon fibre but ....

the stuff used on masts will be much thicker and heavier an exhaust sleeve and may not dissipate heat effectively. The direction of the lay / compositin may also have an effect.

TBH sleeves aren't that expensive and are widely available - why take a chance?

I asked for new sleeves for my damaged BOS silencers but the lad told me they don't have that anymore because the TRX is known by them as a (and I quote) "very old bike" (end quote).

So how thick is too thick?

I was thinking of going with 1.5mm wall thickness in a weave similar to Max's race bike.
