Fork seal size.

Anyone know the size of the fork seals on the trx so i can grab some new ones from the bearing shop before I rip her apart?

Interestingly, the seal is a 3XV- part number (3XV is the v-twin TZR250). God bless Yamaha's parts bin mentality

53x14x whatever is the appropriate size. Mine were 53x14x9.5 if it helps.

Strangely enough my forks are actually slightly different lengths, someone has done something strange to them in the past (and done some nasties to the internals too), so one is now standing up 10m higher on the right. Wonder if one got bent and replaced with a similar item off a different bike, as from bottom to top the left is 815 and the right is 825mm. How peculiar.

Despite the appaling lack of symmetry the improvement on new seals and fluid (500ml of 7.5) is enormous and very apparent. Can't wait for the rain to stop so I can go for a proper ride.

Now might have to look at rebuilding the back shock to suit.

If you put more gas put in the left hand side of the shock it should balance things up a bit...

Its better, dropped the front more and wound off some of the preload and damping back to minimum.

Will wind the preload back up a little bit since really big hits are probably near fully compressing.

For my sort of body weight (about 70kg) 7.5/500ml and probably 2 lines of preload showing seems good. Now need to rebuild back.
