My brakes need to be sorted out

ok, well when i dont ride the brakes are super soft i can pull the leaver right in, but when im riding for a little bit, they get very hard, sometimes the wheel gets locked up. Does anyone have any ideas what i can do about this ? Just to let uz know that ive replaced the little bottle that holds the oil, and possibly there are two different types of oils in the oil lines. any ideas ?

What brake setup do you have ?

It sounds like the return fluid is building up somehow.
If you have blusepots with The R1/R6 master cylinder the sort of problem you have described can happen similair to this if fitted with an unmodified TRX lever. The fluid builds up in the system due to the lever slightly actuatuing the brakes preventing fluid return through to the master cylinder. I had this problem when I fitted an R1 master cylinder and just bought an R1 lever to fix. Although you can also file back the lug on the stndard TRX lever if you want to save some bickies.

I agree with the last post - not bled properly. Drain all the fluid, refill with fresh DOT 4 or 5.1 (not 5) and bleed through properly. Borrow or buy a mityvac (or similar handheld vacuum pump) to make it easier.

i agree. open the bleed valve, squeeze into a long thin tube that just fits over it, and drain into a cup / bucket / whatever. When the res is almost empty, give it a quick wipe out to remove any scum. then top up with new, pump a touch more, top up, etc..
The small plastic tube should be held verticle so any small air bubbles rise up the tube.

Thanks guys im going to give this a go, its just the little bottle that holds the fluid that got replaced, it was working fine before this.

Which introduced air into the system. Bleed as suggested above.
