new r1 fork springs

okay so ive ordered new fork springs for me r1 forks but i think that its not as simple as taking the top caps off and pulling old springs out and putting new ones in with these ?

the fork spring holder is it really needed ? some say yes others say no

Should be exploded views of fork assemblies, I cannot view it while at work so can`t be sure.

ive got the manual anyway but what im saying is when you google it you get loads of people saying both you do and you dont need the spring compressor so if anyone has done it did they use one if not how did they do it ?

I bought the Traxxion Dynamics kit when i put my Racetech springs in. Made the job so much easier.
