Main jet setting advice

Post by M.V. » Wed Oct 06, 2010 11:55 pm

HI All! I need to borrow from the collective wisdom of fellow TRX'ers once again:

Going back for another Dyno run on saturday (Dyno day, so just one run) & I'm in a bit of a conundrum as to what jets I whack in...

This is my current Dyno chart: http://trx850.motomaniac.net/forum/down ... &mode=view

My current main jet is 142.5 (standard) & I have 132.5, 135 & 137.5 jets on hand.
My needle (Factroy pro) is on the middle position, I have since dropped the needle down one.

So: I'm thinking I should fit the 132.5 main jet & drop the needle all the way down & see how it goes on the dyno.

My reasoning is, if it's too lean we'll know pretty quick & it shouldn't do any damage (Right???), but if I put another jet in & it's still rich, dropping it down will be a bit of an unknown & could be a risk in the longterm...

(The other option would be to put some new plugs in tonight, do the jetting & do a plug chop...)

Any thoughts?

Leave it alone, run it again and ask the dyno operator for his advice

Yeah, that would be the sensible way! (Not really my style!)
