Post by trixynut » Wed Mar 16, 2011 12:59 pm

Ok, having a bit of a mental blockage here but....

..with the tank off, when I twist the throttle, the black plastic slides in the two carbs should slide up (open) shouldnt they?? Or not??

Mine dont.

On std carbs no the cables operate the butterflies and the slides open via a vacuum as the air passes through the carbs. On FCR's yes.
My bike maybe a dinosaur but it still has some bite & has a mighty roar.

Sometimes I wake up grumpy ........ but usually I let her sleep in

Kenny`s right CV carbs rely on vacuum to lift the slides.
You can push them up with your fingers through the carb mouths to see if they`re free though.
