I have removed the top triple clamps to drill holes to mount the new bars as i am doing a streetfighter conversion instead of drilling out the bolts for the ignition barrell i in my infinite wisdom decided to just cut the ignition wires and re wire them only problem is during putting it back on i didn't disconnect the battery and the ignition has arced out to the forks now even with the ignition wired back up i have no light or ignition whatsoever so long story short what have i screwed up and how can i fix it lol

Re: ignition re wire Help
Start by replacing the start relay fuse under the seat, because that will be blown. 10a from memory. The really sad thing is the ignition switch simply has one connector to disconnect all of those wires,,, no need to cut!

Re: ignition re wire Help
Go to the downloads section of the forum and look at the wiring diagram, I think there is a fuse in the starter solenoid and if i`m mistaken other members will set me straight i`m sure.
The wiring diagram will help you track the route of live power through the system.

1st - disconnect the battery
Then check the fuses, most likely one has gone pop
BTW, I merged the 2 posts on this topic
