Cool...might be handy to know I convinced them to include an exchange of clocks on the deal...not only did the odometer match the engine but I got the cool white faced tacho

Re: Japanese (black) engine interchangeable parts.
It's possible it has only gone that far. They seem to travel less km's in Japan than we do here in our spread out country. The benefit you'll have is that it should be just a matter of plug and play. I would though, do a thorough inspection and replace filters/fluids as a matter of course.
I just orded my little carb part and hopefully will ahve the engine ready for bolt up this weekend. Of course with just about everything off teh frame at the moment I am tempted to strip and respray it before I put it back together. Maybe clean up a few other bits while I'm at it.

Re: Japanese (black) engine interchangeable parts.
I'm already booked in for bicycle racing (yeah I'm one of those dorky fellas in the gay lycra) out at Willowbank on Sunday morning. My daughter is racing as well so can't really cancel that one. I was going to suggest a ride at the end of January as I haven't been to a gathering since I had my first green TRX (sniff. she was a beauty) a few years ago now. I am hoping to get the bike running during the two weeks I have off over xmas.
