Hello everyone
please can someone give their insight into a problem on my TRX? I started the hog up for a ride and noticed coolant leaking from the right side carb, so i took off the tank and had a jolly good poke around. Looking at similar topic already posted i think it must be the hose is old or perhaps theres a blockage inside the carb, any way can i get a longer hose and just simply connect up the 2 little exits on the main, large coolant hose and bypass the carbs altogether? also would i need to block off the carb coolant inlets?
All help gladly recieved but please keep it simple!
Cheers
Jamie.

Re: coolant leaking
Yep completing the coolant circuit with a length of silicon hose leads to little difference in how the bike will behave / run, unless you`re in a cold place (northern Europe).

Re: coolant leaking
Yeah Jamie, mine used to do that. My mechanic at the time cured it by placing a ball bearing in the warming tube and solved the problem. Also meant that the coolant couldn't complete the carb circuit but after 7 or 8 years nothing's gone wrong so there you go

BTW they often leak either coolant or oil beneath the water pump too. Use search on this site to find more info

Re: coolant leaking
And if you replace the carbs with FCRs those tubes become redundant
