This has probably been asked before so please bear with me.
I know the TDM and TRX motors are similiar apart from the cranks ie 270 / 360 etc
But how closely related are the XTZ 750 Enduro bike motors and what degree crank do they use.

Re: Engine Question
The 750 was the basis for the TDM850 mk1 with a oversized 750 motor and 180* crank over 22yrs ago until the mk2 came along with the TRX with a 270* crank. The Trx being the sports version with different cams, frame, gearbox ratios and larger size tyre size.

Re: Engine Question
Can someone actually verify the cams are different? Part numbers? I reckon they're the same - the extra 1 bhp is in the exhausts.
Edit - answered that question myself - they are different..........well, I'll be etc..

Re: Engine Question
Right, so a similiar engine. (although 100 cc smaller)
Different Cranks, Cams etc. Not really a source as an engine or engine bits to go into a TRX then.
Being as it's the 270 degree crank that gives a rex much of its character.
Nothing wrong with mine, just looking into possible bikes, that may be useful for spares down the road a bit, should a roughie or damaged unit come my way.
Thanks for the info. Great link too.

Re: Engine Question
A lot of parts in the 270 TDM/TRX are still marked 3VD which is the engine number of the XTZ750. A lot of engine parts can be used, so if one pops up it would be worth having for casings, covers, etc.
