Bike Cover

Post by nitemares » Fri Oct 18, 2013 11:49 pm

I have had my TRX since new in 1999. Ever since I have owned it, when not being ridden, it has lived under a bike cover.

The most recent bike cover is a grey synthetic material.

I have an OCD issue with cleaning, waxing and generally caring for the bike. Most recently I noted that on the back edges of the tank.....the top part that sits under your rib cage when you ride.....has started to show slight blurry scratches.

As a rule I do not use polish on the bike....just wax and a "Bowden's Own" paint cleanser....which is not a cutting polish.

I have an older non-weather and dust proof cover that is a porous very light fabric in the area where it touches the paintwork. I was thinking about putting this one on under the grey weatherproof one.

I would like to clear up these blurry marks, and not get them coming back in the future. Anybody have any suggestions???
What the hell was that!!!!!!

Hi there, I too have real bad OCD & always have mine covered with an old fleecy queensize bed sheet (don't
need fleecy sheets here in Perth!!)

If I'm putting the normal silver bike cover on I'll leave the bed sheet on too to avoid any scratching.

Unlike handsomejackuk mentioned in the previous post, I DO ride my bike but also like to keep it clean !! :D

Cheers, Andy
