Running poorly after new shims

Well I am picking them up today & will go visit up north hopefully tomorrow.
I searched long & hard through old posts & there was some suggestions that maybe the floats or at least one was not quite right & I had one around 11mm & one at nearly 15mm so I adjusted them both to 11mm & it goes much better now. Sucking in air from everywhere with everything off it so still runs a bit rough.
Just one question though, no one actually mentioned just where to take these measurements from so I measured from the bottom of the float bowl to the bottom of the floats pushed up to get this figure. Let me know if this is the correct method.

it is pretty tricky and you need a clear tube on the drain hole. There is a line on the side on the carb. You want to adjust the float tangs to get the fuel level to 5mm below that line, pictures belowJeff8 wrote:Well I am picking them up today & will go visit up north hopefully tomorrow.
