I had similar issues last year, turned out it was the TPS sensor. Sprayed it with electrical spray, reset it according to manual and the farting around 3500 rpm stopped immediately. may not be your problem but if not done yet, worth a try..

Try fitting the ignitech ignition M.V. offered to try and just use the default program with the TPS turned off.
If problem is still there, then you can rule that one out easy. :wink:
