3rd Gear rough running

Hi all strange probblem but in third gear under load the engine is shuddering and not pulling, thought this was TPS at first and was throttle related so wasted a lot of time messsinng about with TPS and finally bypassed it this morning - however same problem!

I also realised it was only happening in third gear, revs out great in 2nd, put it into 3rd and get this hesitation and reluctance to pull, fells like an ignition problem. However wack it into 4th and it will pull very hard, the engine revs are not rising like it has slipped out of gear or clutch is slipping and as said feels like an ignitionn or fueling problem rather than a transmission isssue - but if it is why is it only happening in 3rd gear? I am confused
