Supposedly a genuine Yamaha filter for trx... It has always been a squeeze getting them in (I usually try to tighten the oil filter casing bolts evenly to try to make sure the pressure is even as it gets squeezed) but this is the first one i've had that has come out skew-if. Thoughts?

on a happier note, i just picked the bike up from having its carbs balanced/tuned and its running better than ever! (well, it will be, once i've got fresh oil in it)

And it don't work so well upsidey coz the oil feeds in thru the open end and out thru the element.

Yeah it was the right way up. The new one went in a treat but tilted a wee bit toward the front of the bike on its way, which I suspect is what happened to the crushed one but I must have just kept tightening... doh. She's all dandy now though and running better than ever. Had a great race (I mean, sedate ride) with some bloke on a gixxer thou on my way home from work the other day! Just the thing to clear the mind.

Just a suggestion, if you're not already doing it;

Smear some engine oil on the seals of the filter before you install it. That allows it to slide around a bit and seat correctly as you tighten up the filter cover.

Once upon a time, we made overhaul to friends Super Tenere. There was two olifilter seals left in block. Always check that seal comes out with filter.
