Hiya I am new to the forum, and its my first of many requesting information re my new TRX.
First question is, is there a supply of the small back support seat pad?

These rear pads are still available from Yamaha but are fairly pricey - mine was AUD $180.00 six years ago!

You can get them recovered but it depends on how original you want the bike to be.

I got a spurious one recently from the forum here - it looks great but it's a bit bigger than the original, so if you're a fat bastard it might not work.

Also curiously, the different size causes turbulence and a draught around the kidneys

And I have seen the larger ones but I am not that keen on them.
I have been wondering if it could be sprayed with some sort of plastic paint

I really dont think plasti dip or any kind of paint is going to work. Simplest thing to do is get some leatherette from an upholsterer, its so small an off cut would do and just re-cover it. Assuming you have a staple gun it shouldn't cost more that a couple of quid

Failing that an upholster would probably do it on the spot for not much money

Plastic dip looks a good option, or I have found a new one on eBay £70 plus postage, has anybody removed it and fitted two grommets in the holes, it may be a solution

think I've got one somewhere in the garage along with the seats, will have a look when I get 5 minutes.

I used some thin self adhesive foam cut to shape.
Was cheap from the local rubber and plastics shop.

I think it's a steel plate with the foam stuck to it so difficult to staple to.
