Fork seals & adjuster o rings

One of my fork seals has gone & I need to replace the o rings in the preload adjusters too, are the 3XJ-23145-L0 fork seals the same as the TRX one's? 3SP-23145-L0 according to our part numbers, I recall the first 3 digits of the parts number designate the model, so they should be the same?

& anyone got a good source for the preload adjuster o rings?

Thanksl!

Ah, very good, I've eyed those off at Aldi a couple of times, see if my local has any sitting around.

Quite often the part umber itself may be the same and as you said the first 3 letters are different to show the model of the bike. (4NX and 3LN for example)
BUT that doesn't always mean the part itself is exactly the same, it usually denotes for example it's a rubber seal for the forks.

If you can access one of the parts online sites, usually on the details section of the highlighted part number, it will show what other models share the exact same part and are interchangeable..

Well, I replaced the fork seals & the O rings, the O rings were just generic versions from Autobarn, this is the result:

"Sorry, the board attachment quota has been reached."

I think this means that you have posted too many attached images. There is a limit somewhere in the forum software but I'm not an expert on that so I have to leave it to Jak or phuk72.
If you go to your User Control Panel there is a setting that shows all of the attachments you have uploaded. You might need to delete some or better still, host the images somewhere else like Flickr or photobucket, then edit the post to link to the external image.

Thanks Dicky, I dug out my photobucket account!

Anybody know the required size & diameter for these? I think it's ben covered on the forum before, so I'll do a search when I've got some spare time, but if someone know of the top of their head, I would be grateful!

The ironic thing is the leak wasn't this bad before! There's a chance I mixed the old o ring up with one of the new ones, but I'll just do the lot again.

Cheers!

They`ll be generic nitrile O-rings MV, you could try sourcing some made from Viton, much more resilient to scuffing and swelling:

Seals are readily available too, you don`t have to buy `labelled` fork seals, double lipped seals of the right dimensions are the same thing. ;)
