Cranking over but not starting...

Post by M.V. » Thu Jan 21, 2016 12:28 am

What say ye, oh great & wise forum? Only thing that immediately springs to mind would be coil earths, but they couldn't both fail at once?

Has been running fine, swapped the Ignitech back in, also running fine for a 300km run last sat, parked in the shed until yesterday, started it up, conked out while warming up & wouldn't start again. Tried to rev it as it was stalling & it wouldn't rev. Swapped back to stop ECU this morning, still nothing...

Horrible timing, I'm booked on the Sprirt of Tassie for tomorrow night!

Help please.

That's a very generous offer! I'd prefer to fix mine if I can, but that's a plan B

(Although I am very jealous of you sheepskin seat cover :) )

Failed spark timing pickup/trigger?
Can you get the status of that via PC plugged into the CDI?

Fuel not spark as spark would be an instant stop, fuel slow stop…try the filters etc, fuel tap on? or on res?
If it's not made in China, it's a fake!

Shit... I bet I didn't put the vacuum line back on the fuel tap.

Yep, it was the vacuum line. Kinda happy, the Ignitech is back in & I'm on the boat tonight, very glad it was something simple!
