Dog bone lengths

Hi everyone,

I'm having handling "issues" with my Trixie. (or it could be I'm just older and slower) It looks like a previous owner might have lowered it. The front forks have beeen dropped through the fork yoke by 2.5cm and I'm wondering if I've got non standard dog bones at the back. The bike stance is completely flat/horizontal. There's no fall/drop in height from back to front. The dog bones measure 18cm from the centre of the bolt holes top to bottom. Does anyone know what the standard length should be? 8-[

182mm centre to centre.. Shorter dog bones will raise the rear end. std trx has 18mm of fork through the top tree. If it has a 70 series front tyre, this will raise the front by 12mm. (10% more aspect ratio of 120mm)

Thanks for the info Cobba........,

so the bike has standard dog bones. Think I'll go shopping for shorter ones to jack up the rear. :o

Just be mindful you'll find 10mm shorter dog bones (raises the rear about 30mm) the bike will get a bit flighty on large sweepers at speed unless your suspension is up to the task.. 5mm is a good happy medium as you can easily drop the front a little more if you want to quicken the steering further.
