What's the float height for the standard Mikuni TRX carburettors?

4,5-5,6 mm below the mark on the car body, according to the Yam workshop manual.

Having investigated this a bit more, I must say I'm really not sure how to find my float-hight.
The method described in the workshop- and the Haynes manual seems difficult without the proper tools (some kind of gauge connected to the drainpipe).
On the Factorypro site there is described a
method for finding the float-hight by measuring the floats. The problem is that I just can't understand where to find the 15mm(+/-) standard float-hight described in the Factory Pro site?
Here is a couple of pictures showing the float with the valve fully open and with it shut without compressing the needle.
Can someone please tell me where this 15mm is supposed to be?

I am away from home, and can't look it up, but from memory the floatheight is measured with the carbs sitting in place, and a pipe that You attach to the float bowl. Then the level should be within the measures, compared to the diagonal line You see in on the side of Your floatbowls in the pics.

Yes, HansJ the method for floatheight measuring you describe is like the one you will find in the workshop and Haynes manuals.
For me it seems much easier to use the direct measuring of the floats from the edge of the carbbody like its shown on the Factorypro sight, if I only knew where to look.
It's more than likely I'm making this a bigger problem than it is and that my floatheights is ok like they are, but I would love to be sure .

Carb has to be on it's side like in the photo on your link, otherwise the needle valve is compressed and you get a low reading. you can't measure it properly if the carb is sat down on it's ass.
