Chain adjusters

Does these bolts need to "special" in any way?
I can't get the old ones out of my original swingarm. Will Class 8.8 bolts be ok to use?
Just seem to recall that there were problems on some Ducatis a few years back with chain adjuster bolts bending up.

Martin,
As far as I know, the bolts are not special in any way, just 'standard' thread and M8 (?) type, but are about 70-80 mm or so long.
If yours have 'stuck', turn the swingarm over, assuming it's out the bike, and theres a little hole underneath on each side of the arm which you can get penetrating oil into, which may free them up.
Don't think you could get the TRX to put out enough power to bend 'em!

Cheers Dave. I didn't see the holes underneath! Put plenty of duck oil on them. One came out about 2 inches. the other won't move at all. Makes me wonder if the chain has ever been adjusted!

The danger in forcing them is that they snap, then you're fcuked!
If you leave the arm on it's end overnight, propped up against something, the oil might just seep through the boltholes and free 'em up.

Ah sod it they're staying in......................got some lovely shiny M8 x 60mm bolts from work that fit fine. They'll do!

If they are still stuck find someone who can use a VERY FINE oxy flame .slip a sheet of metal strip in behind the bolt and swingarm so you Don't let the flame near the aluminum swingarm , heat bolt to red hot then put into a bucket of water . do that 4 or 5 times then try gentle turn with spanner. and most important don't let the flame near the aluminum swingarm
