Anybody know how to get the brake pad pins out of the rear caliper? Mine are siezed in and WD40 isn't working.

You have removed the r clips haven't you?

Yes Martin, should have said.
I actually sheared one of these years ago, so I'm not keen to repeat the performance.
Stuck solid.

WD40, and a good set of molegrips, try twisting whilst spraying the WD40 also try tapping the mole grips, may need a long punch through the wheel. Final bit may require removal of the caliper and a serious tap with a punch on a better surface.

Have you got the 'R' clips out in one piece or is there a small piece broken off? Are the pads at an 'angle' and jamming the pin's movement?

Spraying it with Plusgas, leaving it on overnight, then using a small punch with large hammer usually does the job.




If not you'll probably have to take the caliper off for butchery.

My Bandit 1200 rear caliper pins always give me gyp - they are also underslung like the TRX and seem to attract just as much road crud.
