I have a Trx in a buggy and the only thing that is different is that it has uni filters instead of the airbox. It always started without a problem with the uni's from day one. The motor had done 66000km's before it came out the bike which i bought as a wreck and another 10hrs in the buggy. It always started really easy with the choke on but now it needs to wind over on the starter for nearly 4 minutes or there abouts before it will fire. The first few times you try it there is no sign of life but eventually you will get a fire here and there and just before it starts running the firing becomes more constant and after that shes as good as gold. From then on it will start first time everytime for the rest of the day. It has new spark plugs which both seem like they are providing plenty of spark and you can smell the fuel. I've started it this way only a couple of times so the starter doesn't wear out. I hope someone can help me. Thanks

If it were me, I'd check the main jets. 170 is what Trixz is using with K&N pod filters - I've not seen bigger Mikuni push in jets listed anywhere, but others may know. Stock is 142.5. Assuming you're running the original CV carbs.
Clean the air filters.
Check the emulsion tubes - look for wear seen as ovaling at the top of the emulsion tubes. Replace the emulsion tubes if needed. Check needles for wear while you're in there.
Check valve clearances.
