Hi
im just getting the rex back to geateather and wanted a bit of info on shock set up.
Due to the fact that im 130kg (20 stone) the bike is basicly doing the same as one of you little guys two up.
what set up do you guys use for tow up work. the front has been rebuilt with up graded springs and am going to find out the grade of the oil today. I understand about rebound, damping and compression but setting it up is a new thing to me. any one in the know that might be able to point me in the right direction would be great.

Brock

static sag to start with should be about 1/3 of the wheel travel with you on the bike ,,but i dont think you will get this with a ten year old shock and your weight ,, iam sure this has been done before ,(search is your best mate) :D :D

Hagon or Wilbers. WP make an emulsion shock too. Cheaper to get it rebuilt by Kais or similar though.

hagon will custom build you a shock for about £290 they can also put a remote preload adjuster on it for about another £125.

i had to order one for a 19 stone bloke his 15 stone wife so they could go touring on a bandit 1200.

they set it up so he could up the preload for when they had luggage on and let it off when it was just him and his missus
