Can someone please measure the height of the bottom of the bottom yoke (if you see what I mean) from the wheel spindle (or similar) with forks in standard position or dropped.... There's something odd going on with my geometry and I need some base settings to work from....

just had a look at my old fork legs , and going off the marks that are on the stantions from the underside of the bottom yoke were it clamps to the leg to the centre of the axle i get 475mm this is with no load free length

My stock bike, on the sidestand, also measure 475mm. White bike on a paddock stand measures 465mm. So....is your headlight any good?

Thanks guys. Any chance of a measurement with the bike on a rear paddock stand? - preferably from directly under the steering stem (YZF yokes on mine you see...) Are all these definately standard set up?

From under the stem to the floor? Or down the forks? Or any other point on the frame to the ground?

My white bike is stock forks with 0.85 springs - doubt it makes any odds - and a 120/60 tyre.

From bottom of the stem to the centre of the wheel spindle ideally....

490mm. Bottom of stem to centreline of spindle with the bike on a rear paddock stand. Are your yokes the same thickness as the TRX ones?

Thanks. I'm getting 475mm on mine (I'm pretty sure the YZF bottom yoke is the samethickness at that point) Sounds about right doesn't it....

yes very similar - right sort of ball park I'd think. what front tyre do you have 60 or 70?

so your spindle is 6mm higher off the ground, so you'd want to drop the yokes down the forks about that to keep the geometry the same..............

The same as what? Mine measures 475mm and your standard TRX measures 490mm. Even allowing for 6mm for the taller tyre my front is still dropped 9mm from standard. Isn't it? I'm confused....

The same as standard I thought that's what you were looking at. I too am confused. I give up.

Err. No offence intended...

Basically I'm looking for standard measurements.... but obviously I want to drop the front a little (most people seem to) to quicken the steering. According to your info my headstock is sitting 10mm or so lower than standard which is about right I think.

None taken................I'd agree. From your original post you suggest you're having a problem of some sort?
