Those guys that have these fitted.....what weight oil and air gap did you use?

Gold valve emulators for the standard TRX forks, IIRC, 15 W oil, smaller air gap, unsure, but think it was 120 mm or something. The emulators were set at 2,5 turns out, but I believe I changed it (Did set them for track recommendations according to the manual, but they were too stiff then, opened up half a turn from that. I weigh ca 95 kgs with gear, and prefer track settings before comfort
Can check the settings again, earliest tomorrow though.

if your going to fit them to the R1 forks as i have just done it totally transforms the front end and now matches the ohlins i have on the rear for the R1 its 110mm air gap and 6 clicks out of rebound and compression and 5w oil ,,the best oil i have found is motrax 5w

I have some fitted in my forks, but I don't know what oil was used or what air gap and there is no info with the bike or on the racetech website.

you wont get any info from the site without the code that came with the instructions,, on the site you go to dvs (digital valve search)and then there is a link ,or if you e mail them they are very helpfull

steve I've got the box and instructions for the emulators. whereabouts do I find the code?

Checked my notes, but can't find the very latest changes... I started with 110 mm airgap, 20 W oil and emulator-preload 3 turns. Pretty sure I now have 110 mm, 15 W oil and 2,5 turns emulator pre-load. Springs are progressive Wilbers.

Note that these settings are for the standard forks, no USD!

I have standard forks with Racetech 0,9 kg/mm springs and have 130mm airgap and a 12,5 W oil, emulator preload 3 turns. Now, however, I also have a question for HansJ: as the travel of the standard forks is 120mm, how is it possible to keep 110mm airgap without limiting your travel? Even more so if the gap is measured without springs as customary?

Leading question, is it only the air that compresses when the forks are compressed? Have never bottomed out so far.

The gap is measured with the forks compressed. when you extend the forks the gap is much bigger than 120mm.

Slightly off topic... Steve, do R1 forks need emulators? I understood they were cartridge forks as standard.
