Could this be correct??
"Only fits the TDM. If you have a TRX 850, you can be a guinea pig. You'll have to send in a stock detent arm and stock detent spring for a free kit, if we can do it - email Marc"

I really thought they would be the same....

the thing to remember is that Factory Pro reside in the US where the TRX was never imported. Pretty likely they've never actually laid eyes on a TRX. They are the same.

no they don't. on the TRX/TDM the "star" is part of the shift cam assembly.

hmmm interesting. they're not all the same.
TDM 99 uses different parts for shift cam and stopper lever.
The early TDM 3VD uses the same shift cam as the TRX but a different stopper lever.
I don't have any info for the pre 99 270 TDM.
So it's worth asking FP what years their kit fits.

tbh I don't think the TRX is that bad. I used one of their kits on a Kwak enduro bike and it made a huge difference, but the gearshift was horrendous on that to start with. the shift star made the biggest difference.

Easy solution, shft to 'race' pattern

TBH, never had a problem with the gears, except when I had new boots...

Mine sometimes drops out of second into neutral, but like gregs656 - it only happens when I'm not pushing it. Compared to the gearbox on my old Guzzi it's a dream

All the details of how it was done are on the old site. which is not a lot of help I guess
