Well, there are no chance i can get a front bolt off ATM...so question...

Are the front and rear discbolts the same....M8 30mm??

Yes they are the same IIRC

Try smashing in a star (torx) bit or using an allen key and then, using a punch, knock the head into the key to create a 'new' hole

i replaced all mine recently and they are made of a very soft cheese .........

i havent been that delicate at doing something since i played operation at the tender age of 8

Well, i struggled with the rear a year ago but that´s fine and the front will be on there for a while longer....i just wanted to prepare with a set of TI bolts...

Front and back are thesame! (as said).

Did mine last year and needed a wrench to get them out Sadly I've put them back in with blue locktight... don't know how much effort it will cost me in a few months to get them out again

Just take a soldering iron on the bolts and any loctite will loosen up!!
...in case you have a "kitchen torch" wich is used to make Crème brûlé....then your set as well!!

They are made of cheese, If you use a kitchen torch you will have a fondue!
If you can replace with a decent bolts then do so, then locktite them in.

I had a go at removing a rear disc recently, did the usual tighten a touch 1st then undo, got 2 turns then off came it's head
so thought sod it took it to a mate who does head skimming/reboring/engine rebuilds etc to drill out the stud and asked him to remove the rest while he was at it turned out to be a pig of a wheel cos he ended up snapping off the rest of em!! so now the disc will be held on by 2 helicoils and 4 other thread insert thingys

I have a rear wheel without helicoils etc and the disc removed (Its fu...knackered!)

Was the disc fubar before you attacked it though?

if not what the hell did you use!?

Disc is cracked at the holes, very small cracks, although I dont use the rear brake, and I have Allen keys of different sizes several times over. I was very careful and the bolts hadnt been removed before. Lever on the key, tighten then untighten and they all came off. You still need a bit of luck though.

Thought id better put some new ones in since i went to the expense of coated wheels, bloody £28 for 18

New Diablo rubbery bits £165
powder coated wheels £100
new shiny disc bolts £28

the ride is priceless and puts a smile on yer clock everyday unlike mastercard

i paid £22 for the full set of front and rear from yamaha

would have prefered stainless ones or titanium
