hi yall,im lookin at rebuilding the carbs and just wondered how much cash i would be parting with to have someone do it for me .i would be looking to have them fully rebuilt,new needles,jets ,emulsion tubes and what ever else is needed.
im pretty goods with the tools and have a spare set of carbs i have been examining,plus the haynes book.should i attemped this myself?
i had the spare carbs apart today and the emulsion tubes where oval shaped.
i have read on here they should be round,and since i had them apart and then back together,maybe i could do it myself.

I'd do it myself if I was you. You'll save cash and learn how to sort your carbs out. As you've got a spare pair the bike won't even be off the road while you do it, and once it's done you'll be able to swap your dirty carbs for a nice pair of shiny fresh ones. I'm a great believer in doing as much as you can yourself, because apart from the fact it saves loads of money and I'm as tight as a gnat's chuff, you get the satisfaction of knowing it's been done. Whether or not it's been done properly is another issue, but at least if you did the work you know exactly what's been done and to what.
