Removing a redundant snotoiler - pointers?

Yet another query (no I'm not competing with Graham for the most listings in one week!!!!)

My impending TRX purchase has a dead Scott oiler on it and my intent is to remove it completely as I have no commuting aspirations (been there, done that over 2 winters on an NC30), prefer chain wax as my choice of lube and would like to liberate the space under the seat where the small refill bottle lives for more useful (IMO) items!

Will it be as straight forward as tracing it all back through to the carbs and deinstalling?

Are there any electrical connections I'll need to deal with or is it all vacuum driven off the carbs?

Will I need to blank anything off on the carbs?

Any pointers appreciated from those on the forum who've installed/deinstalled said beastie.

Yep vacuum driven so one of the vacuum tubes to a carb will of been cut and a T piece put in, so you'll need a new pipe, joiner or have to blank the T piece off. I recently removed one from mine and just bought a new silicon pipe from Demon Tweeks.

No electrical connections to deal with but if it's a single nozzle they may have superglued it to the swingarm (but I hope not).

Thanks for clarification Tim. The nozzle thingy is held onto the swing arm with a couple of big radiator hose type clips, thankfully with something underneath to prevent the swing arm from being scratched (too much??!!)

I think I'll follow your lead and invest in a new pipe as I like factory fit!! Right onto the next job on the list....how I've missed bike ownership!
