do the fcr carbs need any servicing ,?? ,we know the std carbs suffer from needle jet wear, but is there anything to inspect on the fcr,s ???

Not that i'm aware of. The balance is set mechanically and once it's right you leave it alone. 4 years of faultless operation and counting

Just as a precaution, I sent my Mikuni FCRs for an overhaul. I had been told the carbs had been on the bike since it was new... I checked the receipt now, and the only parts they charged me for were some kind of slide gaskets and the O-rings for the float needles (plus new mains, but that was my wish. I know they did some kind of re-build as well, AFAIK the later TDMRs had some minor change. Don't know if they did something more without charging for it.
