Yamaha TRX850 Enthusiasts Forum

Anyone using them? They make a few applications for the rear for the TRX, but nothing for the front. Would a front for a 525 early model TDM 850 fit, as they (Renthal) seem to have heaps of applications for that?

yes they will fit they are on mine ,,you could also try afam , but don't bother with the cheap ones they are shite

Remthal alloy sprockets are a pure example of marketing over function.

OK they may be a bit lighter (as if that is really going to make a difference on anything other than a weight obsessed race bike) but they wear out like nothing else.

I had a 42t rear and it lasted less than 6000 miles. Buy a steel one

I do agree with this, but it's the one piece of bolt-on tat I would put on my bike. There's something unmistakeably cool about them, and the swingarm stickers look factory

I've had an ally renthal rear on mine for absolutely ages, and it's not showing much in the way of wear.

I do have a scottoiler though, and I do normally find that a chain is knackered well before the sprockets are past their sell by date. That said, in umpteen thousand miles on the TRX I've never replaced the chain.

ive got a 42t renthal, its for a R1 to match my rear wheel, and i had to flip it backwards to get the offset correct, but ive had no issues with it.

I think it comes down to regular inspection / maintenance. Or how paranoid you are.
