I fitted my FCRs yesterday and couldn't remove the TPS from the old carbs as they were fixed on with security bolts so my bike currently is running without a TPS connected.

Now, as I understand it (from doing a search- aren't I clever?) the ignition will be running at full advance and the tacho will show an error code as the TPS is disconnected but as I'm not actually using the standard clocks it shouldn't be a problem.

Am I right or incredibly wrong?

I'm going to take the bike out later on today to see how it runs. I didn't have the chance yesterday cos it started peeing down.

Weeelll... I've just been out and answered my own question- the bike runs fine, really well in fact, with the TPS simply disconnected. My first impressions of the FCRs were 'bloody hell!', then 'woo hoo!', then 'ooh, they sound nice'. I got an indicated 132 with more to go (I backed off cos it was quite busy on the private road I was on). Mmm... power...

Right, just the suspension to sort now

edit- they were also jetted pretty much perfect for my bike (airbox, trumpet removed and the foam removed from under the tank) as they came out of the box. Happy happy, joy joy

now you can say you have a fast one the suspension is more important though so take time to get quality bits you will not regret it

I (finally!) got the Thundercat forks measured up for spacers so hopefully I'll get those in the next week and get the new forks fitted, then it's just a case of saving for a Nitron shock. I need a new rear tyre first of all though

I recently fitted some 41's to mine and I know how you feel!!

I couldn't stop laughing on the first ride!
