Pics of original red '96?
I need close-ups (or at least fairly clear) for positioning stickers correctly. I am about to re-spray professionally, and want it to look as close to original as possible. Any pics from known original red '96 , side, front and rear are welcome!
Any measurements that can help will also be helpful. Is any of the stickers glued on only, or are all sprayed over?

Does the workshop manual not show the positioning of the stickers (probably a dumb question, but I would have thought it should...)?HansJ wrote:I need close-ups (or at least fairly clear) for positioning stickers correctly. Cheers for that! Front fairing doesn't have stickers on the side, any idea of that's original or not? Some models came with the twin galloping horses (I think?), but maybe not the '96?trixynut wrote:mine...
Then you have a "YAMAHA" in white in the front above the headlight, and one above the taillight?

That`s one hell of a clean motor Lars,it must have only been used in the dry/summer months?
For the paint on the crankcases and barrels to be that clean is certainly unusual, puts mine to shame that`s for sure.

Re: Pics of original red '96?
Over 29,000 miles and THAT clean, quite amazing.
I think mine`s been used through a few UK winters in it`s time as the crankcase paint and the silver on the barrels has been worn off in places by road grime/grit mixed with water, thrown off from the front wheel.
There`s something strange on that picture Lars,it might be an optical illusion but the final drive chain looks to have a kink/tight spot in it on the lower run?
