Dammmm got fork oil lightly ouzing out of the left fork cap thro the damper rod adjuster. Should imagine there would be some sort of o ring in there to seal it for an edumicated guess. and looking thro the manual doesn't really give too much away on this issue either. Any other unfortunate souls out there had to deal with this before and hopefully guide me in the right direction to deal with it. If its in the manual ,maybe I've just missed it

Mate, I've seen this on three or four TRX's and mine does it too.

Stripping down the damper rod itself is not easy. I just live with it as its such a small amount that comes out.

Also, I gave the adjusted a few twirls round and it seemed to make it leak less afterwards.

today I found myself putting the front end under a little heavy braking a few times so after a little fun i found I'd pushed out close to a ml of fluid with it running down the preload adjuster and the thing is its nothing unusual for me to do that or ride 500k's in a week so I can see myself short 10ml of fluid within 6 or 8 weeks.. If emulators are fitted do they usually replace the preload adjuster that houses the damper rod with a solid unit??? If so may just be the excuse I need to finish modifying the front end..

Honestly, mine did leak for a while then stopped and has never done it again.

Theres an "o" ring in there Cobba. Give it a couple of turns (which should heat it slightly) and then wind it back to it's correct adjustment and it should be alright. Alternately ,if your happy with your adjustment then just run a smear of silicone around the offending bludger.
And no they don't replace it with a solid unit ,they just hacksaw the rod off.

Holy thread resurrection Batman!

While I was playing about with the front brakes on my TRX at the weekend, I noticed there was oil weeping from the rebound adjusters at the top of the forks, is a rebuild in order?

Was planning on draining the forks at some point & maybe putting some 15w or 20w oil in (Haynes recommends 10w) to try and get the front a wee bit firmer. Pre-load's wound up to 2 lines showing, rebound is at 3 clicks, and it's still a bit soft. Can't really afford to put new forks on it, or even new springs, so they're not really an option just now, where changing fork oil should be a relatively "quick & easy" fix.

What say you?

There was just a clip holding the rod inplace and an o ring last time I pulled it apart so would not be hard to track down another o ring if needed I'm sure
