Hi Guys Im getting really bad fuel economy on my bike. I get 140km to reserve thats riding at 60mph average. I have done so far oil, air filter, factory pro tubes, set fuel screws to 2 turns, floats set to 15mm. It has a K&N and twin scorpion cans on std downpipes. I have done a search but cant find anything else to do. Anyone help here please.

60 mph, does it go that slow!! Cant remember what mine does but I'm sure it does more than that, more like 160 miles to a tank !!

do you mean 140km (which is shite) or 140miles which is fine?
I get less than 80 miles to reserve on track and around 115 to reserve on the road (but that is hard riding). But on a motorway / autoroute I can get around 140 to reserve cruising at 90 (ish)

I dont get it. My trx is doing 250 km (156 miles) to reserve. 300 km (190 miles) on a complete tank, this is at normal speed. I've also a factory pro kit and open airfilters. It must be your emulsion tubes. The needles of the factory pro kit is made off titanium.... this is much stronger/harder than stock. I think u have to check your air/fuel condition on the dyno.

If it´s 140Km it must LEAK fuel!

(You mean miles huh?)
Got the full kit as Phuk and get out 230Km normal sunday riding...

Official figures, standard engine:
Fuel capacity: 4 gallons / 18 litres
Average fuel consumption: 43 mpg / 70 kmpg
Tank range: 165 miles / 265 km
140km to reserve is about 22mpg. You sure?
If so, I'd strongly advise not to light up a ciggy within a 20 yard radius of your bike

I have the factory pro needle-jets to.
I'm hitting the reserve after 260-270 km (kilometers) and that's even without thinking about the polar bears!

Ferk a rook!
Even with FCR`s and my riding the induction whistles for fun I get much more than that.
Could one (or both) of the carbs float valves be sticking and allowing fuel to overflow I wonder?
Might not see it at tickover and while riding it`ll get swept along in your wake as the overflow tubes extend down past the clutch housing And cast subframe, exiting very low down under the motor.
More investigation is definately required.

Riding around town, that is to work and back, about 200ks to reserve.
If I go for a highway run then about 270 to reserve, these vary a little but have been like it for ever, like since I have had the bike.
Mind you I do not ride overly quick on the highway.100/120, cannot afford the fines.

Gads!! thats a hell of a lot of fuel......like it's being bucketed in to the intakes......would a perferated diaphram in your fuel pump deliver a substantial dose of fuel to an inlet tract via the vacuum hose that actuates the pump?

I get about 14km/l. That is about 240km on a tank. How is your performance?
My friend on his TDM850 gets about 17km/l.

Performance seems ok but the end cans are sooty so I know its rich even though the carb settings are std.

With almost twice the fuel going in, you should have around 170 hp
