Clutch

Yesterday i did a few short sprints. After those sprints the clutch was almost gone. I had lot's of free play in the cable. After adjusting it and riding a few km's the clutch cable was to tight. I needed to readjust it to it's old settings!

Clutch didn't slip but sometimes it screams when you do a fast take off.

Anyone any idea what the cause is of these symptoms?

No idea how old the clutch or springs are.
Fresh oil (motul)

Hi, after clutch abuse, ie, slipping the clutch during hard take offs, the clutch plates heat up and expand. This will give you excess cable freeplay.......after time, when the plates cool down, the freeplay should reduce to where it was prior to the abuse..........I hear that these clutches can make scarey noises if given heavy use on take off, but thats not uncommon and nothing to worry about, apparently..........reset the clutch cable so that it has freeplay of about 2mm. approx...... After riding for a while I then recheck the freeplay (while still on the move) and see if it is about the same, as it may have reduced, and adjust it, if needed, be by manipulating the adjuster at the clutch lever bracket.......hope this helps. Good luck.

Thanks for your reply, it sure helps!
The screaming part is a known issue, heavy springs is a solution and if I remender correct there is a modification you can do to the basket, drilling some extra holes.

And the abuse I did was pretty heavy. Fast take off, hard on the brakes 3 times.
