I noticed last night (first time out in the dark for a long time) that while idling, the first couple of inches of exhaust from the engine starts to glow red - any advice please as this surely cannot be normal - Its a totally standard Trx with no modifications - many thanks in advance, Rachel.

On me mates bike (bog standard) you could see a little reddish in the dark....but if they are glowing you should go for an air/fuel measure. When running lean you get glowing downpipes...

The cure is to fit less restrictive cans, let her ROOOOOOAR!!!!!
Oh and check your mixture too as KW says, maybe even your ignition timing.

Is it just when the bike is idling or when you're riding? My bike get hot if I let it idle too long, about 5-10 mins & the fan kicks in.
If it's just idling, you should be fine once you get moving.

Mine does this when I run the choke (wierd as it should be running very rich at this stage) and take my leisurely time to put on helmet, gloves etc. I've never noticed it any other time but then again I only ever stand around when it is warming up. It's really quite an impressively scary sight! I'll try and check it out without the choke and report back.

That`s the reason the headers glow, stock system is too restrictive.
