Was out riding Sunday and the chain seperated at the soft link. It wrapped itself round the sprocket, luckily it seems to have done very little damage apart from the hugger. Trouble is it now refuses to start I cant see any damage to the starter cables and the neutral light is working, I can't see any obvious damage to the sidestand switch - though it would be first suspect.
Can any one tell me where the sidestand switch connects into the loom, so I can do continuity test?
Can I have a neutral light yet still have a break from the neutral switch supply to the starter circuit cut off relay?
Would I have to have two faults as if the system thinks I am in gear operating the clutch should solve it
and if the side stand switch is indicating it is up the bike should start unless it is in gear???
Any suggestions??? i always find bike electrics a bit baffling
