Rear disc has 2 stubborn mothers that did not come out.Heads are shot.I'm considering a bolt welded on top of the ruined head.Would this work .I think so ,but people keep preaching jd weld glue.Surely this glue is a poor substitute for the real thing????

I recommend your original thoughts on the solution. It`ll be MUCH stronger than any glue and the heat will help loosen the grip between oxidised steel and aluminium, helping in their removal.
Watch out though, be gentle with them, I have heard of threads self destructing in the wheel!

i've drilled the heads off before on a different bike, remove the disc, this hopefully relieves the pressure on the bolt and then undo with pliers, or add a bit of heat and try, (only do if you know what your doing as i've seen some really bads things done, with people using a bit of heat)

There are a few ways to do it-
-Weld a bolt (or nut) on to the knackered bolt head
-Weld an Allen key onto the knackered head
-Hammer an oversize Torx bit into the knackered head and turn it out using a decent ratchet.
and hope the previous owner didn't use red loctite...
Good luck!

A Cobalt tipped drill (which are very cheap if you shop around) will go through them like butter. You need to be careful but the thread will come out like a Helicoil.
I done this on a few of my Buells and it saves removing the head and spark eroding the snapped bolt(s) on the front engine mounts.
Hammering in Torx bits?

The only thing Torx bits are good for is hammering into knackered Allen bolts!
Adam- my bf recently had the 'Buell-snapped-exhaust-stud-in-head' nightmare. £140 later and it's fixed (with a proper metric thread tapped in to the head)

Some of the Buell bolts were too long for the hole and bottomed out. I always machine 20 thou off them. Buell did a 'secret' improvement on redesigning the boss that the bolt fits into. The heads have the same part No. and the MoFuCo deny there was any change
