bent tab ?

The tab that is used to bolt the steel water pipe into the top of the cylinder head, is the tab straight and flat ? or does it kink down toward the O ring approx 2mm then out at 90o ? 
I should have looked a bit harder, in "Tech Tips", photos and all !
