Hi all,

Just bought a TRX and just joined the forum, very happy on both counts.

I bought my P plate 'needing work' for £575, braided lines, blue spots, generally tidy. Wants a rear tyre and brake pads but not much else.
The seller told me it had developed an oil leak from the oil tank on top of the gearbox. He'd bought the gaskets and got so far stripping it but found he couldn't remove the top section of the tank through the frame. This was easily overcome by removing one of the 90 degree oil pipes On doing so I found a hex bolt about 40mm long sat in the bottom of the tank.
Anyway, he'd placed all bolts in a piece of card in the order they came out, 14 for the top part and 5 for the bottom part. So all were accounted for apart from this stray 40mm one I found in the bottom.
There is a blind threaded hole next to the oil pick up pipe in the top of the crankcase where the oil tank sits. I wondered if this pipe should have a P clip of some sort? That would make use of this threaded hole and bolt?
I have scoured the net looking for an exploded diagram etc but no luck.

Any help/pics greatly appreciated.

Pssssss, don't mention it to a soul, but if you go to the download section there is a full w/shop manual that you can download, also from memory a full parts book which should in fact have that exploded view,

I have just looked there and sure enough page 25,26,27 of the parts manual shows an exploded view of the oil tank,
least I think its the oil tank!

Those downloads are sure to be VERY useful in the future, promise I wont tell anyone!

Have looked at both the service and parts manuals and neither seem to show it clearly enough. I'm going to put another post up asking if anyone has a motor on the bench they can post some pics of.
