Does anyone elses downpipes glow red hot after a short while when warming up on choke when its cold, my ones do and have subsequently melted the bottom of my belly pan....

Seem to remember a discussion on this before ..... cant remember the diagnosis though ......... try a search

no - you have a problem. they shoudln't get that hot

it is running a bit rich at the moment although im getting that sorted after winter, could that be the cause?

Running weak could cause that, not rich......................

Yup, seen a lot of bike´s running lean with glowing pipes/headers!
