bikes running great now at last.Last thing to sort. The mechanic wired up the digital speedo neutral light to the neutral switch behind the front sprocket as i requested he do.In neutral gear the green light is on as it should be.Go into 1st with the clutch in and it goes out just as it should do. But------ let the clutch out to move off and bam!! its back into green and stays that way until you are back in neutral with the clutch pulled it. any ideas????

Must be something to do with the other switch on the clutch lever?

could be the "cut-off relay" which joins the stand switch, the clutch switch and the neutral switch with some diodes and a relay to enable the thing to start.
From memory the light on the dash always has power but is only earthed in neutral to complete the curcuit. Mine did funny things so I cut into the relay box, there were some lines gone on the printed board and a blown diode. Easy to diagnose once inside, just need a multi-meter to check continuity of the diodes.
A bit of solder and some wire, a new diode from the radio shop and hey presto all is well.

Get the wiring diagram from the full manual here somewhere (PDF DOWNLOAD) to assist.

cheers
